My vendor insists that functional spec only need to have short description of how the customised CRM module can do, but no need to include fields description, screen design, flowchart, constraint description, performance requirement & etc.

Your view? Anyone has the same issue?

I have installed the Dynamics GP Connector. I have set up the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Adapter successfully.

However, when I enter the information for the Dynamics GP Adapter, I am getting the following error message:

A connection to the Microsoft Dynamics GP Web Service could not be validated using the "http://VM-SQL08R1-ST1:48620/Dynamics/GPService/GPService" URL.

When I enter the following URL into my browser: http://vm-sql08r2-st1:48620/Dynamics/GPService the appropriate page appears to show that my Web Services are installed correctly.

Just put this build on and now I'm getting errors when I try to post inventory to projects. The batches won't post.
Error--Series is missing or invalid.
Detail lines contains errors
The transaction reported errors during posting and will not be posted
Batch level errors were encountered.

Has anyone seen this before?

Compare the sets if its available in one workstation and not available in another workstation. 

After you find the code folder on every workstation, get the Dynamics.set file. 

right click on it and edit. 

Compare the entries. If any product missing, you need to install project accounting in the workstation missing it.

Check the server name in the domain table in database. Otherwise Update Domain set ServerName = 'MyServerName' where DatabaseName = 'MyDatabaseName'.

We have received an extra 100 item, they were samples, I we don't have to pay for but we have decided to enter into the inventory,  at $0.00 cost, it was entering by mistake with the current price, I would like to know if I can enter the Invoice and then apply a Credit to the Invoice......what will happen to the inventory...... will be the Inventory? How I can approach this????

We have a general IT support company who look after our servers and a specific Great Plains support company who specified and setup the GP SQL server (and look after GP client issues).

The general support company are looking to the GP support company for details on applying Microsoft updates to the GP server.
All the GP support company will say is "most of our users apply updates" - they are clearly trying to avoid any responsibility for issues relating to updates.

Is there a definitive resource somewhere that will confirm suitability of Windows/SQL updates for application to our GP server?

Software Details details:

Windows 7 Professional - GP2010 clients
Windows Server 2008 R2 Std with SQL Server 2008 R2

I am tasked with implementing the Project Controller module. I have perused the user guide to understand how the module works with our existing modules (GL, AP, AR, CM). How best to proceed?

There is a 5 day class on the module, not sure if this will benefit in implementation. Also, could use review of module.
